Unit 9

Dvorak wrote this piece after visiting America.  It encompasses the different peoples of America and the prairie lands. Draw a picture of what you think America looked like to Dvorak in 1893 when he wrote this piece.

This piece uses many forms of ornamentation.  The ornamentation is heard as quick little notes played right before or after the main melody notes.  Listen for the ornamentation.  Add some ornamentation to one of your pieces this week. 

Try playing these three chords in different orders and making up a right hand melody to go with it.
